Kasaragod sarees are distinguished by their vibrant colors, intricate borders crafted using Jacquard or Dobby techniques, and the use of high thread counts and vat dyes, ensuring durability and brilliance. The weaving process utilizes Malabar or frame looms, introduced by foreign missionaries between 1700–1800, which are integral to the meticulous creation of these sarees.
